 Trinity County High School Senior $4000 Scholarship


VFW Post 6899 and Ladies Auxiliary of Trinity County, Texas pursues the dual mission of 

We are committed and dedicated to our young students from their freshman year through their senior year. 

Scholarships are awards to students who excel in academic areas, activities or athletics or who have financial need. 

    1.       $500.00 each semester for eight consecutive semesters.
        Full-time student – 12 semester hours.
        Maintain a 2.4 GPA.
        After each semester the recipient must provide an official copy of
           their college grades to the  scholarship committee.  Failure to do
           this will result in forfeiture of their scholarship.
        Maintain his/her address to the scholarship committee. 



Application Process 


How and When to Apply? 

 How is the scholarship award determined? 

The members of the VFW Post 6899 and Ladies Auxiliary, Trinity, Texas determines the award.  The members elect a “Scholarship Committee” and it is their function to select the final recipient.  The scholarship committee will judge on the following criteria: 

The above categories are weighed and based on a point value system 1 to 100 points. A minimum of 75 points is required for consideration of local scholarship.


Final selection will be made on or about May 15th and the awardee will be notified by mail, email and/or phone call. Awards ceremony will be held at our regular meeting, first Tuesday in June.

All students interested in entering the VFW Local Scholarship contest should contact their school counselor or VFW Post 6899 at 936-594-9467.
